O'BRIEN LAP BAND SET
A set of three O' Brien instruments is used with the Lap Band® System from Inamed. In an effort to simplify the Lap Band gastric banding procedure, Paul O'Brien, MD has designed the following instruments:
 
 
 
O' Brien Lap Band Introducer
The Introducer is designed to introduce the band into the abdominal cavity.
 
O'Brien Lap Band Placer
The Placer is designed to assist the passing of the Lap Band® behind the esophagus. A flexible tip with a notch allows the instruments to enter a 5mm trocar. The tip is blunt so the possiility of preforation structures is minimized.
 
O'Brien Lap Band Closer
The Closer is designed to facilitate the closing of the lap band. The O' Brien Lap Band® Closer is 10mm indiameter and has a non-traumatic, smooth end.
